The Danger of Copy/Paste AI

AI can be a helpful tool, but copy and paste resumes are becoming a real problem.

First, there is ATS stuffing. That is when people load their resume with as many keywords as possible, hoping to trick the applicant tracking system. It usually reads awkwardly and feels forced. Recruiters notice.

Then there is keyword overload. Just because a job description lists 25 skills does not mean you need to cram all 25 into your resume. When everything is highlighted, nothing stands out.

Another issue is the overly polished tone. Some AI-generated resumes sound impressive at first glance, but they do not sound human. Hiring managers are reading thousands of applications. They can tell when something feels generic or inflated.

And then comes the interview mismatch. This is the biggest risk. If your resume sounds highly technical, strategic, or executive-level, but you cannot naturally speak to those claims in an interview, credibility drops fast.

AI should support your thinking, not replace your voice.

Your resume should sound like you, not like the internet.
